Since I have so many pictures from the nativity, I decided to put one on here that is a collage of everything.

Christmas Nativity Celebration

Today was the first day of our 8th annual Christmas Nativity Celebration Event. It is held in the Historic Kaysville Tabernacle. There is a large world tour Nativity Display as well as quilts, wall hangings, a Pioneer Display,a Historic Display of Kaysville and many musical performances.
Since I was in charge of the Pioneer Display, I got Floyd to be our photographer and we took lots of pictures. I am putting in several which will probably take more than one posting. There are pictures of the building, quilts, nativities, pioneer display and historical Kaysville.

Southern California Adventure

I tried to do this blog on our trip but could not get pictures to download on the small computer I was using. So, now that I am home I am entering photos. This one is the first day of our trip when I met my distant cousins for the first time in Saint George. They are Noreene and Ross Cisneros, and me. The pictures that follow and write up are of the rest of the trip. Since I took well over 200 pictures and Jenny took over 480 pictures we have a lot. I am only posting a very few. I hope you enjoy them.

Disneyland Day 1

I was picked up at 5:30 a.m. on Friday morning October 29, 2010 by Jenny and Leland. Off we went on our Southern California adventure.
We arrived in Saint George, Utah a little after 10:00 a.m. There we met my 2nd cousin's Ross and Norene Cisernos. We visited for a short time and exchanged some genealogy information.
You know me, I'm always doing genealogy no matter where I am. We both had 3 ring binders with us that we looked at quickly. Then Jessica took pictures for me.
I am going to share one or two pictures on my blog every day this week, so if you want to see our trip just check in each day for updates (provided I am not too tired each day to make an entry).
Today, however I am making three entry's, one for Friday one for Saturday and one for Sunday.
Most of Friday was spent in the car traveling. Saturday we spent all day at Disneyland (8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m). Sunday we hung out at out hotel, the Holiday Inn. Jessica and Matt spent a little time in the pool. More updates later.

Happy Birthday

Birthday Pictures

Surprise Birthday

Sunday, October 3, 2010 my daughters, gave me a surprise birthday party. It was so fun. My 4 daughters and their families were there as well as two of my brothers and two of my nephews and their families. I love family get-together's so it was perfect. I got to see my nephew's new baby's as well my own family. Our son and his family live in Washington, so they were not able to be there, but I was able to talk to all of them on the phone the next day. My family is so special and it was so sweet of them to do this. The party was at Jenny and Lee's house, and I know they all worked hard to make this a special day for me. It almost makes getting older worth it.
I always carry my camera in my purse, so I took a few pictures.

Logan High School Volleyball 2010

On September 24th and October 31st I attended Sarah Tylers Logan High School volleyball game.

The first game was played at Ogden High School and they won all of their games.

The second game was played at Bonneville High School and they lost their games.

Sarah still did good job and played hard. I am proud of them for trying hard and not giving up.

Hogle Zoo

Today we went to Hogle Zoo with Wendy and Lys' families. The kids had a ball and we enjoyed being with them and seeing the animals. We had been there in years so it was really fun. Attached are some photos.

Bear Lake Adventure

Today Floyd and I took a long drive to Bear Lake. We thought a raspberry shake sounded really good.
We ran into my cousin Norvin and his wife Angie after we got there. After visiting with them a few minutes we got our raspberry shake.
We saw signs and advertisements for helicopter riders. We thought for sure it would cost about $100 dollars for a ride. It turned out the rides were only $20 each, so guess what we did. As you can see from the attached photos we took a helicopter ride. It was fun, but short. I never thought I would ever be on a helicopter, but I'm glad we had the chance to do it.

Special Day

July 4th has always been a special day, but today our family had even more to celebrate and be thankful for. It was our oldest daughter Wendy's 40th birthday and the day our new adopted grand-daughters were blessed. Jenny and Leland have had a busy month. In honor of the completion of this busy month with new daughters Brecken and Alexis, Leland and his oldest daughter Jessica made a side walk chalk drawing. It was so great I just had to get a picture.

Talbot Family Sealing

Salt Lake City Temple Pictures

Temple Sealing

Last night we attended the LDS Temple Sealing of our two new granddaughters, Brecken and Alexis. The girls are now part of a forever family that loves them very much. The sealing ceremony was so sweet and very special. The girls are so little they may not remember it when they get older, but I know Jessica and Matthew will remember it forever. They were all dressed in white and we took lots of pictures. What a special day.

Adoption is Official

On June 21, 2010 about 10:20 a.m. the adoption of Brecken Faith Talbot and Alexis Hope Talbot was made final and leagal by the judge. We now have two more grandchildren. They are all so special. As grandparents we have been very blessed.

Today, Saturday, June 19, 2010 we had the opportunity to go to the Gateway in Salt Lake City where Jessica and Matthew participated in the Adoption Chalk Festival. They did a large chalk drawing of the Cheshire Cat. They did a great job. They are very creative. I have attached a short video.

Alex's Graduation

Our second grandchild graduated from Logan High School on June 3, 2010. He was really excited.
After the graduation he went with friends to the graduation party that was planned. Floyd and I spent the night in Logan at Wendy and Kevin's house. Alex got home about 7:30 a.m. I think he had fun but he looked tired. We left Logan and drove home about 9:30 a.m.

Mushrooms

Since we have had such a rainy, cold, wet spring, we have decided to grow mushrooms instead of flowers. Actually, the mushrooms are popping up in back yard from all the moisture. The flowers I planted two weeks ago I think are water logged. I've already had to replace 4 of them that bit the dust. It's been hard to get yard work done between storms, but I keep trying. Anyone out there know where the sunshine is? We seem to have lost it.

DUP Jubilee

Our Davis Kaysville Company of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers held their annual Jubilee on Saturday May 15, 2010. Our them this past year has been, "Year of The Campfires". All ten Camps were in attendance and, using the Theme, decorated their tables for the luncheon. There were many displays also which everyone enjoyed. One display was done of for the new Theme for next year. Our Company has been working on placing a marker in the new Kaysville Heritage Park which we hope will take place next year. We have also been involved in the Outreach Program which has been a success. "Smore Awards" were given out and we honored Roy and Chloe Thompson for their service in DUP and in the Community. There were drawings for gifts and an enjoyable program as well. I have enjoyed my first year as President of this Company and look forward to fun things happening next year. Our Theme next year will be the "Year of the Chores and Poetry". I have posted some photos from our Jubilee.

Icelanders Light House

Two weeks ago we drove to Spanish Fork to take more pictures of DUP Markers. We found the Icelanders Lighthouse, which is marker #35 which tells about the Icelanders discovering America in 1000 AD. Sixteen Pioneer from Iceland established Spanish Fork. There was also an Icelanders Memorial and a real rock from Iceland. We also found the Spanish Fork Grist Mill DUP Marker #526 that tells about when Spanish Fork was settled and when the Grist Mill was built. These markers are always interesting.

C.J. and Brayden's Flight

Yesterday, Saturday, March 6, 2010 I had the special opportunity of attending a state wide science fair competition at Davis High School with one of my grandson's Cameron Clark. He and his friend Brayden built an airplane. They wound up a rubber band then attached it to the plane and let it go. It flew around the gym of the school, going higher and higher and then gradually coming down and landing on the floor. Their plane took 1st place and they both received GOLD MEDALS. It was exciting. I took pictures and have posted a couple of them.
