Merry Christmas 2011

The end of the year is fast approaching and I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I haven't kept my blog up very well. I get so busy with Indexing, genealogy and family that I don't take the time to update.

We have had quite a year. A trip to Washington, Yellowstone and many family activities.

Our oldest grandson is serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Chile. He has been in Chili for two months now. His older sister is making plans to serve a mission as well.

We had another grand daughter graduate from High School and has been attending college at UVU.

We try to go to as many activities that our grandchildren participate in as possible.

One granddaughter is in the marching band at Davis High School and her brother is in the band at the Junior High School.

We have been to volleyball games, musical's and special church functions.

My husband and I keep busy with our church callings. I have been Indexing for the past 15 months and I am now learning to arbitrate. I have worked on my genealogy and found many distant relatives that I have been blessed to do Temple work for.

The attached photo of my grandchildren is 4 years old, but it the latest update that I have.
Our handsome grandson is serving the people of Chili. He and his companion both sat on Santa's lap.

I want to wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year.

Surprise Oct 25, 2011

My daughter Jenny planned a big surprise party for her daughters 16th birthday. She did a fantastic job. The surprise went off without a hitch and it worked liked a charm. It was a lot of fun. The party was at my house in the basement and Jessica had no idea. She thought everyone too busy that day. The food and decorations that Jenny did were great.
Happy 16th Birthday Jessica.

July 4th Parade

Today has been a fun day. We celebrated our oldest daughter's birthday as well as our country's birthday. My granddaughter Jessica and I were in the Kaysville Parade. Jessica was in the Davis High School Band and I wore a blue pioneer dress and helped carry the DUP banner. We had a BBQ in our back yard after. It was very warm, but over cast. I had a great time.

Washington 2011

We have had a busy 6 weeks. We went to Bothel, Washington to see another granddaughter graduate from high school. We also went to Mt. Reiner. We had a great time, but it was a
long drive.

the back. The winners were Matthew, Samantha, Wendy, Jenny Shaylee, Sarah,

Anniversary

For our 44th wedding anniversary, I surprised my husband by taking a cake to his office. I also took three of my children and some of their family members with me. He had no idea we were coming and the surprised worked great. We had an enjoyable visit during his lunch hour and then he had to go back to work. Because it is also St. Patrick's Day some of family was dressed in green.
The cake however, was decorated in blue and yellow because those are the colors that were used at our wedding reception.

Two Company Convention

Since the past few months have been a real trial, I have not had time to post anything on my blog. I am making up for that today.
The attached photos were taken at our Daughter of Utah Pioneer Davis Kaysville Company Two Company Convention which was held March 12, 2011. It was a lot of work but it was also a success. Everyone had a great time.
Our officers meeting and messages were received with enthusiasm. The ISDUP leaders gave interesting talks. The musical number by "Sweet Harmony" was enjoyed by all. They sang "Last Rose of Summer". Our table decorations were wonderful and everyone received a knitted dish cloth, bar of lye soap and a Dish Rag Poem. Lunch was delicious and we had a great day.
