Spring Flowers

The attached picture was taken in April or May of 2008, last year. This year the flowers haven't bloomed yet. It has been so snowy, rainy, and cold that the flowers are a bit late. I assume my yellow flowers will be in full bloom soon. The neighbors across the street have daffodils in their front yard, but the snow on top of them has them all bent over. In the mean time we stay inside where it is warm. We are, however, looking forward to LDS General Conference this week-end. Conference is always uplifting and inspirational.

The Pioneer wagon at the top is my reminder that on May 16th, I will be installed as the new President of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Davis Kaysville Company.
The small picture to the right is a collage photo of the DUP Museum in Salt Lake City, Utah and what is inside. There are three floors full of pioneer artifacts as well as a carriage house in the back. (There are only a few pictures of artifacts on their web site. It is only when you go to the museum to see the many pioneer artifacts in person, that you get a real feel for what the pioneers went through.) When I go there I spend hours looking around and thinking about what my ancestors went through to cross the plains in covered wagons and pulling handcarts and walking many miles to reach the Salt Lake Valley. Their trials and hardships were many. I love DUP and hearing the histories and stories of the pioneers and seeing the artifacts they brought with with. The pioneers had much faith , courage, fortitude and partiotism. I hope that I will be able to be a good leader and represent these couragous pioneers properly. If you click on the Museum picture it takes you to their web site.
